Rewards App in Operator Mode

Operator mode allows the user to interact with a customer once they have checked in with a device in Customer mode.

Operator mode is intended to be used in conjunction with another device in Customer mode.

When the app is in Operator mode there is an entirely different workflow and user interface.


Operator Mode Home Screen

The operator mode home screen displays all checked-in users. 

To interact with a user, tap anywhere on the customer tile. This will advance to a customer screen.

Operator Mode Customer Screen

The customer screen provides a host of tools to the user: 

  • The ability to add points to the customer
  • The ability to redeem rewards for the customer
  • The ability to view the point balance of the customer
  • The ability to send coupons to the customer, if this feature is enabled.

Earning Points in Operator Mode

To add points to a customer: 

  1. Tap the customer tile on the home screen
  2. Enter the amount the customer has spent by using the keypad on the customer screen
  3. Tap the ‘Earn’ button
    1. Tap the ‘Earn & Finish’ button to return to the home screen and check out the customer
  4. The customer will earn rewards based on your store configuration, and receive an SMS text message confirming the number of points earned
  5. Perform another action as necessary 
  6. Tap the ‘Done’ button check out the customer and return to the home screen

Redeeming Rewards in Operator Mode

To start the redemption process: 

  1. Tap the customer tile on the home screen
  2. Tap the ‘Redeem’ button 
  3. Select a rewards item from the list by tapping on 'item'
  4. Click ‘Yes’ on the pop-up to confirm the redemption and return to the customer screen
  5. The customer will receive a text message confirming the redemption
  6. Click ‘Done’ to check out the customer and return to the home screen

There is an option to validate the customer by pressing the ‘Send Validation’ button. This will send a 6-digit code to the customer’s phone by SMS. The code will be visible to you and can be re-validated if needed by re-pressing the same button.

Send a coupon to a Customer

There are two ways to send a coupon to a customer. It can be done from the home screen or the customer screen.

Send a coupon from the Customer Screen: 

  1. Tap the customer tile on the home screen
  2. In the upper right corner of the customer screen, tap the button with 3 horizontal lines and the customer’s phone number
  3. Tap ‘Send Coupon’ 
  4. Select a coupon from the available coupon list 
  5. A SMS message will be sent to the customer alerting them that they have received a coupon
  6. The app will automatically go back to the customer screen
  7. Press ‘Done’ to check-out the customer and return to the home screen

  1. Tap the gear icon in the upper right corner of the home screen
  2. Tap ‘Send coupon’ 
  3. Select a coupon from the available coupon list 
  4. Enter the customer’s phone number and tap ‘Next’ 
  5. A SMS message will be sent to the customer alerting them that they have received a coupon
  6. The app will automatically go back to the home screen
